My name is Anastyn and I was the roving reporter for the week of August 17th through August 21st.
MONDAY: We did reading first thing. In reading, we got in groups and did different stations. Next, we did social studies. We learned about the Kwakiutl and Nez Perce Native Americans. Then, we worked in math, where we did different math stations and played on the computers. Lastly, we did science. In science we learned about decomposers, consumers and producers,
TUESDAY: Today in reading we did reading groups and had Mrs. Wilson helping in our class. In social studies, we did different Kwakiutl and Nez Perce stations and learned how they adapted. In math, Mrs. Wilson helped us go over all of our homework and did lots of math games. For science, the class did different stations about decomposers, composers and producers. We learned how they survive.
WEDNESDAY: For reading on Wednesday the class did novel studies to get prepared for open house the next day, Thursday. For social studies we did mini groups about the Nez Perce and the Kwakiutl tribes. Also Mrs. Perryman said that the class was extra awesome today as a complement. Today in math we went over our homework and went on front row. For science today the class did a science experiment. We got a whole banana and cut half of it and put each half in a sandwich bag. Then in one of the bags we put yeast and absorbed it. We talked about might would happen and some of the thoughts were “the banana would get soggy and wet. Another thought was that “it was going to take the yeast in and absorb it.”
THURSDAY: For reading on Thursday we had extra time to finish our novel studies so Mrs. Perryman could hang our work up on our board. In social studies the class got out our social studies books and read about the Native American tribes. In math today the class did front row to practice our math facts. Also, in science class, we did a flipbook about the decomposers, producers and consumers.
FRIDAY: Today in reading we did a reading test and then when we were done we had to finish our unfinished work. In social studies, Mrs. Perryman took up our menu projects for the week. We went over our week of homework but Mrs. Wilson was not in the class today. In science today Mrs. Perryman took up our projects from our menu for the week.
