Today in math we learned about time lines the number nineteen (19) nine (9) twenty five (25) sixteen (16) six (6)and four(4) in Mrs. Perryman’s class. We were working in groups learning about time lines.
Today in social studies we made a flip book and wrote P-I-E-S. We wrote the definition and the example for it. P-persuade I- Inform E-Entertain S- Share your feeling,. Persuade is to encourage someone to do something you want them to do. Inform means to give them all the information that is available to you. Entertain means to keep their attention for example if someone is dancing. After that we had lunch
Today in science we had to catch up with our work because we did not finish. We finished our test and our food chain papers. After that we did flash cards that helped us learn about herbivores, carnivores and decomposers. I learned herbivores are animals that eat vegetation, carnivores are animals that only eat meat, and decomposers are organisms that make the soil rich Worms are a good example of a decomposer.
Today in reading we did close reading. That is when you have to read for the flow, answer the questions and notate about the story that we just read. I read about the Hopi and the Nez Perce Native Americans. The Nez Perce plant their crops in the ground because the soil above was not fertile soil and they gather roots and berries. The Hopi’s dug irrigation systems out from the rivers to their crops to make watering the crops easier. They hunted animals like deer, rabbits birds and caribou. After reading we went to recess. We played basketball and kick ball. Our team won.

Today in Math we did number lines and we had to test on it. We had to finish our math worksheet that had practice problems for the number line. We had a lot of work to do. We checked our morning work and we had another test about time lines.
Today in social studies we did a study guide about the Nez Perce Native Americans. Their homes were made out of clay that was called adobe and the hunted elk, sheep, and other forest animals.
Today in science we had to finish our work in science. It was another food chain worksheet. Once we got done finishing it we watched a video about food chains and food webs. A food chain a animal goes after a certain animal in a food chain, like when mice eat nuts and then the snake eats the mice and then the hawk eats the snake. A food web is different from a food chain because a food web goes after different animals.
Today in reading we did a group of five. I worked with kid number 7, 24, 25, 27 and I am number 23 in Mrs. Perryman’s class. And the rest were working independently. After reading we had recess we had another game of kickball. It was fun. Then it started raining so we had to go inside and we finished our recess inside.

Today in math we did number lines AGAIN and we checked our morning work. After that we had to glue something in our math journal. I forgot what it was called but it had number lines with the answers on it.
Today in social studies we checked our study guides. I only got four wrong. I corrected the ones I got wrong. After that we watched a video about all the Indian tribes. The Inuit’s the Nes Perce and the Hopi’s.
Today in science we got into groups and read a news paper about the food chain and the food webs. We all read a paragraph about it. After that we watched another video and wrote a paragraph about it.
Today in reading we checked our study guides. I only got four wrong. We did a lot in reading. After that we read our History Alive books. We read about native Americas. At recess we played basketball.

Today in math we did a test. After that we did worked in groups and we talked about number lines and time lines. The rest of the time we worked independently.
Today in social studies we studied about the Nes Perce and the Hopi’s. After that we watched a video about them. I learned more of what they did. We also prepared for our test tomorrow by bringing our social studies books home and read about the Nes Perce and the Hopi’s.
Today in science we got into groups and read the same newspaper as yesterday but this time we had to write a paragraph about the food chains and food webs and how they are different and alike.
Today in reading we took a test about where rivers start and end. The rivers start in the mountains and they end at the ocean. After that we watched a brain pop video about the same thing, where rivers begin and end. At recess we played football.

Today in math we checked our morning work. Some of the problems were hard but we all solved them and corrected them. After that we got little number lines and the teacher wrote a number on the board and we had to round it to the nearest thousandths. And the number was 1,237 and I rounded it to 1,000. After that we watched a video that taught us more about number lines and how to regroup. After that we went to social studies we had a substitute teacher, Mrs. Wagner, she is my classmates mom. We did our spelling test and then we took a grammar test.
Today in science we had to finish our work we had another food chain sheet. Then after that we took a test on the food chain and food webs. After that we watched another video about the food chain and food web.
Today in reading, we had to write a paragraph about two boys who smoked drank and lied and never went o school. After that we went out to recess and after that we left. Happy Friday!
