Tuesday was incredible, we had music is our special, and we practiced songs for the program in November. The songs were called American Everyday and two other songs. Also in music we got another sticker. In Math the first thing we did was go over our morning work with Mrs. Wilson. For addition and subtraction we learned a new strategy. The me, Baylen, Thomas, Chloe, and Amberley were at Mrs. Perryman’s table rounding. In Social Studies me, Connor, Thomas, Ethan, Skylynn, and Coan studied native American tribes. The tribes we are studying are the Nez Perces and the Kwakiutl. But in Mrs. Perryman’s group we just read a passage. In Science my group was working on independent work. Independent work is where we have to write down the meanings of the science word. You either have to write short stories with the vocab words or chose to draw, I chose to draw. In language arts we have a mentor sentence that we do a worksheet on. On Tuesday we went over the parts of speech and for language arts we have to write a story about being proactive. In reading I was in computer group and we had to read a short story. Then we had to type up a summary about the story. The story was about a fox and a crow. Second in our eventful day we did math. For math I was in Mrs. Perryman’s group with Chloe, Baylen, Thomas, and Amberley. We went over rounding with the number line again. Then we finished a math work sheet on rounding to the nearest hundreds. Also the class went over morning work with Mrs. Wilson.
I had a WONDERFUL Wednesday. First, we went to specials. We had computer lab. In computer lab we got a website called front row. It is a math website where you solve math problems and earn coins. Other people did not finish what they were supposed to in reading or social studies, so they had to work on that. I love math so I loved getting on front row. Next, was social studies. I was independent. In independent I had to read my social studies book. Then I had to draw a picture. The picture had to have what the Nez Perez and the Kwaciutl Indians shelter/ food/climate/ and clothing looked like. In science the first thing we did was an experiment. Mrs. Perryman had a banana and another banana in a different bag. She then put active yeast on one of the bananas in the bag. Then in science I was in my group with Skylynn and Coan. Reading-I was in Mrs. Wilson’s group. We had a paper that we had to fill out on Why all the parts of a book are important. We used our social studies book.
I had a tremendous Thursday. First we had writing lab. In writing lab I had to finish up my story. Our stories had to be about something or somebody being proactive. For my story I wrote a about me having to be proactive because in my story my grandpa got really sick. In my story I called my school to see if they would help. At the end of my story Alannah as in me, got enough money to help my grandpa to have his surgery. I know what you are thinking did this actually happen. Well yes and no. I didn’t have to get money to help pay for his surgery. But this did happen. Second, we had math. In math I got on a computer. Why you ask? Well I love math so I am very good at math. Also I had finished my math rounding sheet. Let me tell you what we do on computers for math. We get on a website called front row. It is lots of fun. A lot of the kids in my class enjoy it. But on front row we practice math problems that we have a hard time with things in math. Front row is super fun because you can earn coins and buy stuff that you can buy for your avatar. Third, in our stupendous day we had social studies. In social studies I was in exploratory. What in the world does that mean you are thinking? Well it means I was working in a socials studies group. Who was in my group though? I can answer that question. Skylynn and Coan were in my social studies group. In social studies we are talking about The Kwakiutl Native Americans and The Nez Perces Native Americans. For our social studies group we have to make a cartoon, a play, or an I-movie. We decided to do an I- movie. I love being in groups. I am meant to be a team leader. Then, had science. In science I was in computer group. In computer group we watched videos on YouTube. The videos are about producers, consumers, decomposers, omnivores, carnivores, and packet was a very challenging word. Me and Chloe like to challenge our self’s. We are also very high herbivores. I took a lot of notes on the videos. They are really coming in handy because my group has to make a song about those things. When I say I took a lot of notes I mean a lot. I am so glad I decided to take notes. Now I know a lot more of things about that science. Finally, we had reading. In reading Chloe and I did our novel study. Novel study is where we read our book then fill out our packet. Our book is about the Kwakiutl Indians. The vocab word we chose for our readers.
I had a Fabulous Friday. First we had P.E. In P.E we jogged in the gym first. Then, we played a game where we had the gym separated into four corners. The people on my team were Annisten , Madison, Raul, Frank, and Coan. In the game the objective was to knock down many bowling pins that we could and protect our pins to keep as many of our pins up that we could. We ended up coming in second the first time and third in the second time. Next, we had a math test. Usually we would do our morning work. But Friday is a special day. In the morning we have to get through tests. Then in the afternoon we do fun stuff. For example we present our projects for science and social studies. We also have time to work on stuff if we are not done. Then, we had a reading test. It was a very challenging but we all got it done. She had us all do this really silly thing. She had us pull up our smarty pants and turn on our light bulbs.
Once we were done with our test for science some of us shared some of our social studies stuff, science stuff, and our proactive stories. Most people’s things they shared were very awesome. My class mates are amazing kids. Finally, we got to go the fun part of Friday. But right before we had to take a quick and easy test for science. THEN my group and I had to work on a imovie for social studies. We got done with the imovie and then started to work on our song for science. We didn’t get to do much though.
