Describe in depth a character, setting, or event in a story or
drama, drawing on specific details in the text (e.g., a character’s thoughts, words, or actions).
Students are able to identify important details about the characters they read. These details come from a character's actions and dialog. Students then connect these details to character traits. Applying character traits helps students understand and describe a character in depth. These skills were applied to a character compare and contrast essay.
